	Winter/Spring Baseball Clinic Reminder

This posting is for the players signed up for the 2010 YAC 9^th Annual Winter/Spring Baseball clinic.

The players have been placed in session times by grade. Instruction groups will be grade & playing division appropriate. This information has been E-mailed to you as well.

Session A - 5th through 10^th grades Pony & Major Divisions

Session B - 2^nd through 4th grades Bantam (2nd Grade) & Minor Divisions

Session C – Kindergarten & 1^st grades Bantam (1^st Grade) & T-ball Divisions

The sessions have been scheduled as follows;

3/7/10 – Sunday - Yorktown High School Gym

Times – Session A – 12:10 PM to 1:25 PM

Session B – 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM

Session C - 2:50 to 3:50 PM

3/14/10 – Sunday – MESMS Gym

Times - Session A – 12:10 PM – 1:55 PM

Session B – 2:00 PM - 3:45 PM

Session C – 3:50 PM – 4:50 PM

3/21/10 – Sunday – Yorktown High School Gym –

Please use the Locker room entrance on the side of school for this day only.

We will be rescheduling last weekend’s postponed clinic. Please watch your e-mail and the YAC web site (www.yacbaseball.com) for information

Players need to arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled time. We are limited by gym time availability and will be starting the sessions promptly on their scheduled times. Players should wear baseball attire, sneakers and bring their baseball gloves and bats. We will have a limited supply of bats for players to use if a player does not bring a bat.

There is no parking allowed on the side or rear of the Middle School, players may be dropped off there but parents need to park in the lots in front of the schools for pick up of players.

You will be notified by E-mail if a session is canceled because of inclement weather. We will not being calling anybody. Please make sure that we have an E-mail address that you will receive should we be forced to cancel on a weekend morning. This can be done at clinic check in.

Please be timely in picking up your child, a parent or guardian needs to be present for a player below 7^th grade to be released.

Thank you for signing up your child for this clinic, they should have fun while enhancing their baseball playing skills.

	Travel Try Outs Reminder

Reminder

YAC Travel Baseball Tryouts are scheduled for this upcoming weekend (2/20 & 2/21) and the weekend of March 6^th & 7^th. We will be holding the tryouts at the Extra Innings Facility in Fishkill, NY. Directions from Yorktown are listed below. The drive is approximately 40 minutes. Please plan your time accordingly and arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled time. This will allow us time for checking in applicants.

There is open time scheduled for Sunday, 2/21/10 at 11:00 AM and Saturday 3/7/10, at 11:00 am to 12:00 noon for players that can’t make their scheduled time. It is recommended that you attend the times scheduled for your age group.

Some important notes

There is a $20.00 tryout fee. Please bring a check in the amount of $20.00 (made out to Extra Innings) or cash to the tryouts. Players that are grade and age eligible and want to try out for two teams will be charged $20.00 per try out session for a total of $40.00.

Please bring a check made out to the YAC in the amount of $275.00. This is a deposit towards the YAC Travel fee. This fee will be refunded if players are not selected for a team. The deposit will not be refundable if the players are selected to a team.

Please bring your bat, glove, batting helmet (if you have one) and wear baseball attire and sneakers

Players need only to attend one tryout for their age group. They may attend both sessions if they choose. Their score will be averaged between both sessions. If you feel you didn’t perform your best at the first session you may want to consider attending the second session. Note; there is a $20.00 fee payable to Extra Innings per try out session.
Teams and Coaches will be selected after the second weeknd of tryouts.

Extra Innings is offering the YAC members trying out a 5% discount on the purchase of any equipment during the evaluations.

	2010 Travel Season

The YAC is now accepting player and coach applications for the 2010 Travel Baseball Seasons.

This year, in a bold, new move, three (3) divisions, 11U, 12U & 13U, will play both spring and summer travel programs. These players are not required to play in the in-house program, we encourage them to play in-house as spring travel games are typically Sunday doubleheaders. In all other divisions, players are required to play in-house and/or scholastically to qualify for the travel baseball program.

In order to try-out for Travel Baseball, you must register/sign-up, no later than February 19, 2010.Sign-up takes place on the YAC Baseball Website, www.yacbaseball.com under the Travel program tab on the left hand side. You will find a Travel Baseball Information Guide, an age eligibility chart, as well as the player and coach applications.

Please submit an application for each player intending to try-out for a team.

Try-outs will take place at Extra Innings in Fishkill, NY, on the weekends of February 20^th & 21^st, and March 6^th & 7^th, from 8am to 12noon. Division times are posted below.

Coaches will be chosen after the player evaluations have taken place. We are anticipating having scholastic coaches at the 18U, 16U and possibly the 14U divisions. Please complete a coach application if you are interested in coaching. This includes coaches who have previously coached YAC travel baseball.

7th Annual Winter / Spring Baseball Clinics

The YAC Baseball program will be conducting their seventh annual instructional Winter/Spring Clinic. The goal of this clinic is to provide players with pre-season skill building sessions with the focus being on the fundamentals of baseball including: pitching, catching, hitting, fielding and throwing. Sean Kennedy, the YHS Varsity Coach will be supervising all the clinics. The clinics are open to players in grades K through 11 who are registered for Spring YAC baseball.

Note: Clinic dates and locations may change due to weather and other events outside YAC control.

Time: 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Session times to be determined)

Where: Yorktown High School Gym 2-28,3-7 & 3-21 / 3-14 will be held at The Middle School.

Fee: $60.00 per player

Players will be grouped according to what division they will play in during the Spring 2010 season. We will send you an E-mail with the time of the session for your child.
